This mission-driven organization is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their team and support their financial operations. As the Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit accounting, hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop, and a deep commitment to the nonprofit mission.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including journal entries, month-end close, and year-end processes
Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate coding and documentation
Prepare and maintain financial reports, including budget vs. actuals, cash flow, and grant tracking
Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
Manage payroll processing in coordination with external payroll provider
Track restricted and unrestricted funds in compliance with donor and grant requirements
Assist with annual audits and ensure accurate financial documentation
Maintain up-to-date records of donations, grants, and program-related revenue
Collaborate with the Executive Director and/or Finance Committee on financial strategy and reporting
Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS nonprofit regulations, and internal financial policies
Support ongoing financial projects and improvements as needed
Minimum 5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping or accounting experience
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop (required)
Previous experience in the nonprofit sector strongly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general office software
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
Strong understanding of fund accounting and nonprofit compliance
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
